Vintage feather hat to the extreme

I love the vintage feather look as much as the next feather-hat-lover, but here's an advertisement that really goes all out for feathers!

We have many feather hats listed at The Vintage Hat Shop right now. But alas, none quite so dramatic!

Replacing feathers on a vintage hat

I recently purchased a 1930s black felt forward tilt hat for The Vintage Hat Shop--  I loved the hat, in perfect condition, except for the feathers--

So I went to my favorite craft store and purchased new feathers and replaced them myself!

Of course when I listed the hat I mentioned that the feathers had been replaced, but with feathers similar to the original, would you agree?

Five Hundred Vintage Hats!!

A Big Day here at The Vintage Hat Shop-- the 500th hat was shipped to Arizona this morning!

The hat sold was a vintage slouch hat, made in England with a downy feather off to the side. Very classy and just a bit dramatic.

First the hat was wrapped carefully in tissue paper--

Tied up with a simple pink bow--

And it is on its way!

Now on to hat #501!!

Authentic Horse Feathers, Really?

I had heard of the term "horse feathers" but I didn't really think there was such an item. Until I got interested in hats. Yes, there really  is such a thing. Just take a look at the feathers on the right side of this 1940s cocktail hat. Indeed, they do look just like horse hair.  Real authentic horse hair.  Dramatic and flattering.
