What The Hat Lady wears in winter

Since I own The Vintage Hat Shop, I am often known around town as "The Hat Lady". You would think that every time I am out and about I would be wearing a vintage hat. Ahhhh, not so. Especially in this blustery weather up North this year.
When I am on my way to the post office for a hat mailing this is often my outfit of choice--

Fuchsia cloche hat, worn at a tilt. Plaid Cashmere scarf, made in Scotland.

Add my long warm faux fur trimmed coat. And I'm off!

La Mode Illustree, March 1914. Antique Fashion

Oh, my. Take a look at the stunning model on the gorgeous cover of the La Mode Illustree magazine. Love the legs crossed at the ankle and the plaid of the skirt matching the jacket.

Dressed for winter wear in France, 1927. Note the details-- like the button on the scarf and the belted coat. Classic.

Vintage Hat Lady is on a mission to find unique and classy hats!

My hat inventory is getting quite low so it is time to go on a vintage hat shopping extravaganza.

We are headed to the Midland Antique Show on Saturday and the following items are my tried and true "must haves" when I go to the swap meet.

I can't wait to share some of my finds with you.

Favorite walking shoes

Baseball cap or umbrella? Could be either rain or shine!

Empty cart-- ready to fill

I always take some items along to trade with other Etsy sellers.

Yes, a real paper map! We will travel the back roads some, too.

Fanny pack- (shhhh, don't tell the kids. They hate it when I wear this!)
