Dobbs Hatbox Miniature

In the 1930s, and 1940s men were very particular about having just the right fedora hat.  So if you  wanted to give your guy a hat for Christmas you gave him a small gift hatbox which enabled him to go to the store and choose a hat to his liking in the proper size.
I had never seen one of the mini hatbox/giftboxes  before this past weekend. I was so pleased to find the Dobbs box in a nearby antique shop. You can even see the "For" blank on the cover. The box is 3 in. high and 4 1/2 in. across.           Currently available in The Vintage Hat Shop.

Men Wearing 1920s Hats

In honor of Father's Day I thought it would be timely to take a look at men wearing vintage hats. Take a look at  a photo from The Manistee County Museum showing the group of dapper men wearing boater hats and fedoras. I am thinking this picture was taken around the 1920s.  I wish I knew what is written on the tags.
