1931 Chevrolet Sport Coupe, with vintage hats to match!

The Literary Digest from January 24, 1931  had an ad for The Chevrolet Sport Coupe with rumble seat.
Look at all the action in this picture! The guy with the suitcase and the lady in the rumble seat make me wonder if they are coming or going.  Love the guy ringing the dinner bell--wearing the white jacket.

1931 Chevy and a brown cloche

I bought the January 24, 1931 issue of The Literary Digest specifically for the Chevy advertisements. Yes, my guy is a Chevy man. The photo of The Chevrolet Standard Sedan is such a classic!

But when I looked carefully I saw some advertisements that  match perfectly with some vintage hats currently listed in The Vintage Hat Shop.  

Look at the women getting out of the car. That brown cloche is perfect! It reminded me of the 30s cloche that I recently offered for sale in the shop.

The little guy running toward the car has such motion. And what about the man holding the suitcases-- wearing a striped vest! This simple picture tells a whole story.

On this date 75 years ago Amelia Earhart mysteriously  vanished over the Pacific Ocean while attempting to fly around the world. Neither Earhart nor her navigator Fred Nooan were ever found.

Vintage Cloche and the Jazz Age Lawn Party

Won't it be just perfect?  Even though this hat is not from the 1920s it has the style and feel of a flapper ready to do the Charleston dance on the arm of a  dapper gentleman.  Get your dancing shoes ready!!

Vintage Cloche, Ali MacGraw, Love Story

OK, I know I am dating myself when I mention that I saw " Love Story" when it first came out back in the 1970s. Tis true.
I loved the cloche that Ali MacGraw wore-- and everyone else wore after that movie.
So when I saw this magazine I just had to go through my hat collection and find an original 1920s cloche to put with Ali's picture. See what you think.
I am not a magazine collector so I am willing to pass on this Good Housekeeping November 1972 issue to the first person that asks for it. Just contact me and I'll get it in the mail.

There  is also an article by Dr. Joyce Brothers, "System for Liberated Love and Marriage". Just saying.
