Alice Roosevelt, Gibson Girl

Alice Roosevelt was 17 years old when her father, Theodore Roosevelt entered the White House in 1901.
She was a beautiful girl and as spirited as her father! Alice embodied the image of the Gibson Girl--the ideal concept of the American Woman.

"I can do one of two things. I can be President of the United States, or I can control Alice. I cannot possibly do both."   Theodore Roosevelt
